We’re beyond thrilled that England’s gradual release from Lockdown is now at a stage where leisure centres and facilities such as our Ice Rink are now able to re-open. We are now busy planning a re-opening which will prioritise the safety of our staff and customers whilst maintaining the spirit of our rink as a place for our visitors to have fun and our wonderful regular skaters to continue to learn and grow their talent.
Like many other businesses across the City, and up and down the country, we have declined to open at the first possible opportunity, preferring to progress towards re-opening steadily and subsequently have not suffered the disappointment and strategical set-backs associated with some of the last minute reversions to social distancing from the Government. We are looking forward to welcoming staff and visitors back to our building when the time is right and it is both financially feasible and sustainable.
The new international ice arena has now received full planning permission and the building work was due to commence within weeks of the pandemic impacting. We are continuing to speak with partners in the project and hope to commence this new exciting project for Plymouth as soon as it is safe and viable to do so.
